Gas Fire

Our Accreditations

Stephen has attended various courses relevant to the plumbing and heating trade and these include:

Gas Safe – for natural gas domestic appliances, i.e. boilers, fires and cookers, and therefore he is competent in the installation and servicing of these appliances.

L.D.A. (Lead Development Agency), gaining a distinction in the installation and dressing of lead work to roof coverings, flashings and slate pieces etc.

Scottish Water Bye Laws – for the safe and correct use of materials and installation to achieve clean portable mains cold water supply.

For Stephen, copper represents the word ‘tradesman’, when applied to plumbing and heating pipe work. The skills required when measuring, cutting, bending and soldering copper pipe are, he believes, lost when using the relatively new pvc materials available today. Stephen feels that copper pipe work simply looks cleaner and tidier, particularly in exposed applications. After all, one cannot polish plastic with ‘Brasso’!

Although this is Stephen’s material of choice, new modern housing is often fitted with PVC plastic pipework. He is more than happy to work with this material.
